According to the ISO 7637-2 standard, the measurement of automotive transient emissions requires an electronic switch, a mechanical switch and an artificial power network. Electronic switches are used to generate slow transients; mechanical switches, which simulate typical relays used on vehicles, are used to generate fast transients; and artificial power networks simulate typical impedances on wiring harnesses.
