           Low-noise and low-power broadband amplifiers are used to improve field strength test sensitivity and general attenuation tests, up to 28GHz.

           The power requirement for operation is DC 12 V / 300 mA (eg optional AC/DC adapter, laboratory power supply, rechargeable battery).

           The input and output ports of broadband amplifiers are sensitive to electrostatic discharge. Therefore, it is required to take precautions before touching the amplifier. (coax and human body discharge).

           The amplifier input has SMA female connectors. A 0.5m coaxial microwave cable is provided to connect the antenna to the amplifier. The cables come with SMA male connectors. The amplifier comes with a 3/8" female camera thread to attach to the mast, such as the AM 9144. The antenna itself is mounted to the amplifier base with another 3/8" screw. The polarization rotation can be easily indexed in seconds by screwing in further in 45° steps using the set screw.

           It is very important to avoid bending and twisting of microwave cables, otherwise permanent damage will be incurred. Recommended way to install the antenna: the antenna connector points in the opposite direction from the RF-input of the amplifier. This allows smooth moving microwave cables with larger radii of curvature.
