The FCC-1 half-wave dipole antenna, also known as the reference dipole antenna, is the simplest form of antenna consisting of a matched counterweight and two horizontal elements. The FCC-1 tuned dipole antenna includes a mounting jig, tape measure, extension element, and adjustable telescoping element. Each antenna element is tuned to 1/4 wavelength, which creates a precise resonant response at the test frequency. The antenna balance weight refers to the ANSI C63.5 standard and consists of a folded balance weight that converts 70Ω (at resonance) to 50Ω impedance. This balun design has low VSWR, low balun loss and can handle up to 300W of power.
