Communication networks are easily disturbed by lightning strikes, so communication equipment connected to outdoor devices/equipment needs to have proper protection against surge pulse interference in order to work normally in lightning weather. TSS 500N series communication surge simulator is an electromagnetic compatibility test instrument used to verify the immunity of communication equipment.
The TSS 500N4 complies with the test requirements of IEC 61000-4-5 and related standards, ITU-T standards and FCC 97-270 (part 68) standards for surge B pulses. In addition, it can generate 1.2 / 50 us surge voltage pulses that meet the EN / IEC 60950 standard.

The TSS 500N10 is an ultra-compact simulator capable of generating 10 / 700 us and 9 / 720 us communication surge pulses, and 1.2 / 50 us voltage surge pulses.
The TSS 500N10 is not only a pulse simulator but also has a built-in coupling network for 2-wire and 4-wire test applications. Its output terminal can be directly connected with the communication port of the equipment under test. In addition, EM TEST offers coupling networks suitable for 4-wire or 8-wire communication line testing.
Pre-programmed standard test routines are easy to use. TSS 500N10 also provides a quick start test program, the user can adjust the test parameters online during the test, so as to evaluate the sensitivity level of a single device under test.
Through the front panel menu and function keys, users can quickly and accurately edit the test program. The control cursor is used to quickly control all test parameters of the programmed test program, which makes the test process very simple and ensures that each test step can be carried out correctly.

CNV 504T5 / 508T5 Coupling Networks are suitable for surge surge testing of communication lines according to EN / IEC 61000-4-5. Two models are available for different applications with 4-wire and 8-wire. The decoupling network consists of pairs of current compensating inductors.
