Low Frequency Conducted Immunity (Classification Society) Test Scheme

1, China Classification Society "electrical and electronic products type approval test guide" in the low frequency conduction immunity test requirements and methods

China Classification Society "Electrical and Electronic Products Type Approval Test Guide" (hereinafter referred to as the test guide) is formulated according to various ship environmental conditions, including Chapter 3.8 low-frequency conduction immunity test, which is used to simulate the power supply effect of AC power harmonics and AC power ripple of marine equipment. The test guide specifies the immunity requirements of EUT for the frequency range from 50Hz to 10kHz (see Figure 1 for the test parameters), and the low-frequency disturbance signal that meets the requirements is applied to the power supply line of the tested equipment through the coupling transformer.

Figure 1

The test method is shown in Fig. 2, superimpose the low-frequency disturbance signal that meets the requirements on the power supply line of the test equipment, and scan at a low enough rate within the specified frequency range to find any fault of the test equipment. During and after the test, the performance inspection results shall meet the requirements of performance criterion A.

Figure 2 Typical Low Frequency Conducted Immunity Test Configuration

Because the technical requirements of the test equipment are not given in the test, it brings some troubles to the equipment selection. This test is similar to the CS101 test project in the GJB151B. The following describes the test requirements of the CS101 test project.

2,CS101 25Hz ~ 150kHz power line conduction sensitivity test requirements and methods

CS101 is suitable for AC input power lines (current not higher than 100A per phase) and DC input power lines of equipment and subsystems, but does not include return lines. For AC power lines, the test frequency range is the second harmonic of the EUT power supply frequency to 150kHz; for DC power lines, the test frequency range is 25Hz-150kHz. Test equipment includes signal generators, power amplifiers, oscilloscopes, coupling transformers, 10uF capacitors, isolation transformers, resistors, etc.

3 and 4 show the calibration configuration and the test configuration, respectively, and FIGS. 5 and 6 show the test voltage limit and power limit, respectively.

Figure 3 CS101 calibration configuration

Figure 4 CS101 Test Configuration

Figure 5 CS101 Voltage Limits

Figure 6 CS101 Power Limits

Use an oscilloscope to monitor the voltage waveform on the 0.5Ω resistor during calibration, as configured in Figure 3. Adjust the signal generator to the lowest test frequency, increase the signal level until the voltage indicated by the oscilloscope corresponds to the maximum required power specified in Figure 6, check whether the output waveform is sine wave, record the setting value of the signal generator, scan within the required frequency range, and record the setting value of the signal generator required to maintain the required power, which is the verification power value.

During the test, adjust the signal generator to the lowest test frequency according to the configuration shown in fig. 4, increase the signal level until the required voltage or power level (whichever is smaller) is reached on the power line, maintain the required signal level, and perform scanning measurement within the frequency range not greater than the standard.

It can be seen from the above that CS101 fully meets the requirements of low frequency conduction immunity in the classification society test guide in the frequency range and test arrangement.

  3, the solution

The low-frequency magnetic field test system provided by Century Huize (Suzhou) Testing Technology Co., Ltd. can meet the test requirements of low-frequency conduction immunity in the Guide to Type Approval Test of Electrical and Electronic Products of China Classification Society.

The main equipment is as follows:

Low Frequency Simulator CWS 500N3

Figure 7

The CWS 500N3 is mainly used in automotive and aerospace applications. Various international standards and military standards require low-frequency magnetic field testing. In addition, the automotive field also needs to superimpose sinusoidal signals (ripple noise) on the DC power supply line to test the conduction immunity. The CWS 500N3 is based on a combined and integrated design concept and provides you with the optimal solution for the above test requirements.

It meets SAE J1113-2,ISO11452-8,DO 160D / E (Section 18) and MIL-STD-461D / E (CS101,CS109 and RS101) standards.

The CWS 500N3 is based on a combined and integrated design concept and provides you with an optimal solution for conducting low-frequency and low-frequency magnetic field immunity tests. The CWS 500N3 includes the standard low-frequency signal generator, audio amplifier, 2:1 low-frequency transformer, frequency-selective current and voltage monitor, and load resistor.
