Introduction to electromagnetic compatibility

Electromagnetic compatibility refers to the ability of electronic devices to function properly in an electromagnetic environment. Electromagnetic interference is a phenomenon of electromagnetic change which is harmful to the performance of electronic equipment. Electromagnetic interference not only affects the normal work of electronic equipment, but also causes damage to some components in electronic equipment. Therefore, the EMC technology of electronic equipment should be given sufficient attention. We should not only pay attention to the electronic equipment from the surrounding electromagnetic interference and can work normally, but also pay attention to the electronic equipment itself does not produce electromagnetic interference around other equipment, affecting the normal operation of other equipment.

电磁兼容

Recently, EMC has evolved from post-processing to pre-analysis, prediction and design. Electromagnetic compatibility has become an important part of modern engineering design. Electromagnetic compatibility compliance certification has been developed from a national scope to a global area, making electromagnetic compatibility as important as safety and environmental adaptability.

For example, the European Community incorporated the electromagnetic compatibility requirements of products into technical regulations and enforced the Directive 89/336/EEC, stipulating that electrical and electronic products must meet the electromagnetic compatibility requirements and be labeled with the CE mark before they can be sold on the market from January 1, 1996.

In order to be in line with international standards, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Economic Affairs and the National Exit and Entry Inspection Bureau began to conduct mandatory electromagnetic compatibility tests on personal computers, monitors, printers, switching power supplies, television sets and audio equipment in January 1999. Since October 2002, the state has implemented mandatory electromagnetic compatibility certification for sound and television broadcasting equipment, information technology equipment, household appliances, electric tools, power supplies, lighting appliances, electric ignition driving devices, financial settlement electronic equipment, security electronic products and low-voltage electrical appliances.
